Type: Professor/Group leader
Center for Core facilities (CCF), Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen
We are seeking to appoint a Director of the Core Facility for Integrated Bioimaging (CFIB).
The CFIB is a newly created multimodal bioimaging core facility under the new Center for Core Facilities (CCF). CFIB’s vision is to integrate the two existing facilities, the preclinical NMR platform and the Core facility for Integrated Microscopy (CFIM). CFIB currently offers open access services on a broad range of bioimaging technologies; including preclinical in vivo NMR imaging, multiphoton intra-vital imaging, light sheet microscopy of both live and cleared organisms/organs/organoids, histology and pathology, confocal and airyscan for both fixed and live experiments, SIM, STED and SMLM, volume EM, room temperature TEM and cryoEM/ET, single particle analysis, tomography and advanced image analysis pipelines.
The CCF is hosted by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND) and aims to strengthen access to advanced research technologies and foster interdisciplinary collaboration at the University of Copenhagen. CCF coordinates and develops strategic core facilities across the faculty, ensuring cutting-edge technologies, transparent processes and pricing, and strong links to leading research environments.
Established on 1st of September 2025, CCF brings world-class infrastructure under one umbrella, making it easier for researchers, educators, and innovators to access technologies that drive and support excellent research, discovery, innovation, and life-long education.
The CCF will create a research infrastructure-centric ecosystem to implement and sustain excellent service provision, support and drive technology/methodology innovation, and secure the financial sustainability of core facilities. Importantly, CCF will define and implement attractive career paths for the highly interdisciplinary and diverse professionals that lead, manage and operate our core facilities.
