SUMMARY:Membrane Imaging: Structure And Dynamics In Cells And Models
DESCRIPTION:An interdisciplinary workshop on imaging of membrane systems.\n Lipid bilayer membranes constitute the essential physical barrier that separates cells from their surroundings and defines the internal organelles. Understanding structure formation in membranes at the nanometer scale as well as dynamics related to membrane conformation\, transport and signaling are key topics. The interaction between the lipid component of membranes and embedded\, peripheral or soluble proteins is often at the center of these studies. Recent technical developments in the imaging of membrane structure and dynamics are revolutionizing our understanding of biomembrane architecture and function.
