SUMMARY:18th Annual Workshop on FLIM and FRET Microscopy
DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for the 18th Annual Workshop on FLIM and FRET Microscopy\, March 11-15\, 2019. \n  \nhttp://www.kcci.virginia.edu/workshop \n  \nThe Histochemical society is supporting TWO fellowships (each $1000) to attend the workshop which you can use it towards the workshop tuition fees. Please visit the web site for the 2019 award by clicking this link-  http://histochemicalsociety.org/Awards/Awards.aspx . \n  \nPlease visit the 2017 awardees using the link- http://histochemicalsociety.org/Membership/Awards/Awardee-History/FRET-Workshop-Travel-Awardees.aspx \n  \nHands-on instruction and training on wide-field\, confocal\, Spectral\, and lifetime FRET imaging Microscopy systems. \n  \nDiscussion on best FRET imaging and data solutions. \n  \nPersonal attention for a maximum of 25 participants. \n  \nInternationally recognized faculty. \n  \nIndividual problem solving. \n  \n*        For attendees to experience an advanced practical course on Förster (fluorescence) resonance energy transfer FRET) and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) microscopy to image the protein-protein interactions. \n  \n*        It is advantageous attendees should be familiar with the basics of fluorescence microscopy. Brief introductions to the principles of fluorescence\, microscopy\,  fluorophores\, FRET and FLIM will be made. Emphasis will be on practical aspects\, hands-on individual instruction at the instruments followed by data analysis and interpretation. \n  \n*        Problem-solving discussions will address questions of fluorophore choices\, the most suitable systems to achieve specific research objectives\, qualitative vs. quantitative analysis and much more. Introduction for an unique image processing and analysis software (PFRET) will be given for training. \n  \n*        Live-cell specimens provided; participant’s own specimens are welcome. \n
