FEBS advanced course “Functional imaging of nuclear organisation and signaling”
June 9, 2019 - June 15, 2019(Deadline: February 1, 2019)
We are happy to announce the FEBS advanced course “Functional imaging of nuclear organisation and signaling”, organised by FEBS and the van Leeuwenhoek Centre for Advanced Microscopy at Amsterdam University, the Netherlands, June 9th-15th 2019.
The ability of cells to perceive and correctly respond to their environment is the basis of development, tissue repair and immunity as well as normal tissue homeostasis. The nucleus plays a central role in these processes because in this organelle the genetic blueprint of the cell is located and highly dynamic processes like gene activation, transcription and chromosome duplication are taking place.
By increasing the understanding of the complex nuclear organisation and signaling, related diseases can be treated more effectively. Microscopic techniques allow to visualize nuclear organisation and elucidate signaling complexes and their dynamics in time and will be the topic of this FEBS practical course.
This 6-days advanced microscopy course for experienced graduate students, postdocs and scientists will integrate theoretical lectures with hands-on experiments and practical experience. National and international experts in the field of microscopy will give an overview of “state-of-the-art” imaging techniques and applications in biological research.
Participants: Max. 20 PhD students, postdocs and scientists.
Level: Experienced microscopist
Costs (including registration, hotel and all meals): 450 €
Application deadline: February 1st 2019
Organisers: FEBS & LCAM, contact: Mark Hink (firstname.lastname@example.org)
