A 3 year British Heart Foundation postdoc is available at the University of Birmingham, UK.

The aim of the project is to build a cellular model of the role of the cytoskeleton in platelet aggregate organisation using advanced microscopy and cell labelling techniques. The post holder will develop a robust method for visualising and quantifying the subcellular structure of individual platelets within an aggregate using Expansion Microscopy, confocal and Lattice Light sheet imaging.

Using this methodology we will study platelet aggregates from both normal and perturbed situations and will develop image analysis methods to better understand the heterogeneity of thrombi and how this may be targeted in disease.
