Type: Postdoc

Are you keen on working with histology and imaging data and would you like to be a driving force in developing new methodologies for studying entry of protein molecules into the brain? Then you have a unique possibility to be part of one of the most skilled and advanced tissue imaging units in Denmark?

About the department

Pathology & Imaging is a department within Global Discovery and Development Sciences and is situated in Måløv, Denmark. The department is committed to the development of new pharmaceutical entities and is working with state-of-the-art histology and imaging technologies to support both early and late stage projects with detection and quantitation of drug and drug receptors as well as efficacy and safety markers.

About the position

Novo Nordisk is looking for a candidate for a post-doc position of two years duration. Novo Nordisk is partner in the IM2PACT consortium, a collaborative European research project within the IMI program aimed at discovering and characterizing blood-brain barrier targets for brain delivery of therapeutics to treat neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. The consortium consist of leading European universities and research units of pharmaceutical companies.

You will be involved in several specific tasks related to the study of blood-brain barrier passage of proteins, e.g. 3D imaging of global brain distribution of fluorescently labelled antibodies specific for a range of potential new drug delivery genes. Your tasks and responsibilities will be varied and will include input to and review of study designs and analytical methods, literature research and involvement in the exchange of technologies and data across the IM2PACT units.

You will get the opportunity both to work independently as well as in teams. You will also have the opportunity to expand your professional network. Assuming responsibility, clear communication and taking action will be essential parts of your work day.

Qualifications

You hold a university degree in Life Sciences supplemented with a PhD where histology and imaging technologies have played a central role. You will bring broad and in-depth understanding of histological analysis as applied to preclinical research, data analysis and data evaluation. Specific experience within studies of the brain as well as experience in working with image analysis and bioinformatics are considered assets. As a person you have high ethical standards, you are responsible, well-organised and a strong communicator. You can work under pressure when needed and are able to make independent decisions. You are good at collaborating and communicating with stakeholders internally as well as externally. You are a strong driver and a dedicated team player and enjoy supporting and challenging your colleagues.
